I saw this story on the morning news today…seems like all I watch is Fox 13 news! “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” author Stephen Covey announced a new social networking site that seems really useful. Dr. Covey has left his stamp on the world of web 2.0 social networking.

hi there i am university student currently studying the nature and role of which a social network plays in peoples lives. i am collecting reasons why people actually use social networks. for example; to make friends with simillar likes/dislikes, to find relationships etc. my study concerns what attracts people to these sites and how it benefits them, the motives etc. why are sites such as Facebbok and MySpace so popular? examples could be the ease of use, the HCI experience, theings which you can add to your profile etc.
The thing is that social networking sites cater to the "gatherer" instinct prevalent in the female psyche seeing as it is that most girls find the fact that they can "collect" friends appealing. Ironically, this turns into a competition within the network of said "friends" over who has the most connections, and thus spawns a tipping point. (See Malcom Gladwell)
On the other hand, the reason for why guys flock to myspace is simple; the girls are all there.

I want to know how do social networks earn money. Why so good business.. If you know that info focused on LinkedIn it will be better.
Thanks!
A large proportion of their money comes from advertising. When there’s a social network with lots of members people will want to advertise their products on there and that’s how most SNs make their money. The more popular the greater the business.
